August 28 Wednesday. Beginning of Orientation.
Aug 28-30 Wednesday through Friday. Registration of graduate
students.
September 3 Tuesday. Classes of the first semester begin.
Instructor's signature is required to add a course.
Opening Convocation 11 AM.
September 16 Monday. Last day to add a course without a fee.
September 30 Monday. Last day to change a grade option
declaration.
October 14 Monday. Columbus Day Holiday. No University
exercises.
October 18 Friday. Mid-semester deadline. Last day to add a
course. Last day to change from audit to credit or
credit to audit in a course.
Oct 21-Nov 1 Monday through Friday. Registration for Semester II.
Nov. 27-Dec. 1 Wednesday noon to Sunday. Thanksgiving recess.
December 2 Monday. Classes resume.
December 2 Monday. Deadline for declaring a leave for Sem. II
or to confirm readmission for Sem. II
December 7 Saturday. Beginning of Reading Period.
December 11 Wednesday. Classes end for courses not observing
the Reading Period. Last day to drop a course or to
file for an incomplete.

Semester II 1996-97
January 1 Wednesday. Last day for payment of charges.
January 20 Monday. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. No
University exercises.
January 15-21 Wednesday through Tuesday. Registration of new
and readmitted graduate students for the second
semester.
January 22 Wednesday. Classes of the second semester begin.
Instructor's signature is required to add a course.
Theses of candidates for Masters and Ph.D. degrees
in May (on Semester I registration fee) due.
February 4 Tuesday. Last day to add a course without a fee.
February 15-18 Saturday through Tuesday. Long weekend. No
University exercises.
February 19 Wednesday. Last day to change a grade option
declaration.
March 7 Friday. Mid-semester deadline. Last day to add a course.
