Instructions for using Office Hours Chat and Downloading Software
A computer chat program allows the user to communicate by typing in real time and online to all who are connected to the particular Network. The idea is that during office hours the chat network will be running for anyone wanting to ask Chemistry 22 questions.
There are two chat programs one for the Mac and one for IBM compatibles. You must down load the software to your computer hard disk and activate it. The commands are summarized below. The name of our Chat Room is Chem22. To get on after activating Irc type Control K or Apple K. In preferences-startup in the File menu of irc you can change the irc server your are connecting to. Some are busier than others. I am using irc.cs.cmu.edu
