hey Dad -> thanks for the letter and dinners and film. i got to damascus 2 days ago and have been messing around here since mostly just writting. there's no one else around down here so late in the season and i've got the trail, shelters, hostels, etc. all to myself. i see about 2 people/day on the trail.

i think i've got a ride home from Ga. so don't worry about that. probably be on springer mtn oct. 10-15 and back home not sure how long after that.

well i'v got to get moving more later.....
